Recap of the LAC–EU Roundtables on Literary Networks
On 17 September, two roundtables on literary networks took place during the LAC–EU Summer School in Barcelona. Open to the public, the sessions featured writers Fernanda García Lao (Argentina), Quinny Martínez (Colombia), Teresa Ruiz Rosas (Peru), Andreia Moroni (Translator and General Coordinator of the Instituto Guimarães Rosa Barcelona) and Eduardo Ruiz Sosa (Writer, Curator of the KM Amèrica Festival, and Editor at Candaya), who reflected on the dynamics of cultural exchange between Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Summer School 2025: Highlights from September 15–19
The LAC-EU Summer School 2025, held from 15 to 17 September at the Universitat de Barcelona, brought together leading scholars, policymakers, and doctoral researchers to reflect on the future of relations between the European Union (EU) and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Organized under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network “Understanding Latin American Challenges in the 21st Century (LAC-EU)”, led by IBEI, this event combined academic debate, public dialogue, and doctoral training. The Summer School joined about 20 PhDs, their supervisors and associated partners to the doctoral network.

The LAC-EU Doctoral Network is a new Horizon Europe-Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN), providing 12 dynamic, forward-looking, and motivated doctoral fellows with the best possible research training and education to enable them to become the next generation of experts ready to take on a leading position to strengthen the role of the EU in the world and to promote a successful and sustainable relationship between the EU and LAC.
