Take part in the VI Congreso Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Ciencias Sociales de FLACSO
The VI Congreso Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Ciencias Sociales de FLACSO ‘Pensar el futuro: Transformaciones sociales en América Latina y el Caribe’ will take place from 5 to 7 November 2025. This year the congress will be hosted by FLACSO Argentina, one of the partners of LAC-EU. There will be three days of presentations and panels around 12 thematic axes that aim to offer a plural, informed, transdisciplinary and intergenerational space for the exchange of ideas.
What are the phenomena that distinguish the social order under construction in the 21st century? What characteristics is it acquiring? What does this transformation look like in Latin America and what challenges does it imply? Is it possible to build social cohesion in contexts of inequality? What is the role of the state and public policies in the transformation process? How can we consider the contributions of the diversity of our peoples in the construction of sustainable ways of life and in the confrontation with the effects of climate change? What education, what knowledge, what health and care policies are needed for the post-pandemic world? How can we address the crisis of political representation in order to strengthen democracy? What institutions are needed at the national and supranational levels to respond to the challenges of the contemporary world? What social sciences are needed for the emerging world?
These are some of the questions that will be addressed at the conference. If you want to participate, you have until 30 April to submit a paper or a panel.
