The LAC-EU External Advisory Board is now complete

We are pleased to present the External Advisory Board for our MSCA-DN “Understanding Latin American Challenges in the 21st Century” (LAC-EU).

The External Advisory Board is made up of four members:

Mercedes Aráoz. She is a Professor at the Department of Economics at Universidad del Pacífico. She is also a researcher at the Centro de Investigación of the same university. Her research interests revolve around international trade and negotiations, as well as public policy design and management. 

Barbara Göbel. She is the Director of the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut, Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, and a Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology. As a researcher, she focuses on several axes: socio-ecologial inequalities and natural resource conflicts; collecting institutions and digital transformation; and knowledge circulation, knowledge forms and knowledge infrastructures. 

José Antonio Sanahuja. He is a Professor of International Relations at the Complutense University of Madrid, and Special Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean for the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell (ad honorem). A former Director of the Carolina Foundation, he has been a researcher or consultant for the European Commission and Parliament and several other institutions. 

Vicente Ugalde Saldaña. He is a Research-Professor at El Colegio de México, specializing in Urban and Environmental Studies. His work focuses on the study of metropolitan governance, environmental policies, the legalization of the environment and socio-environmental conflicts.

They will all bring their expertise into the doctoral network, and will assist on management, training, research, dissemination and outreach issues.
